Frequently updated content is an absolute must for any website. With this RSS/XML Reader mod, you can now have up-to-date RSS feeds from external sites displayed on your pages and matched perfectly to your site's look and feel.

The popularity of RSS feeds means that whether your site's niche market is by subject matter or geographical location there are always feeds available from news sites, blogs, etc. You get the benefit of having frequently updated content without having to take the time and trouble to write it yourself.

The feeds can be added to any page on your site, whether as a new side box, a dedicated news page, or just part of a page (for example under your homepage category list). You can even display several feeds at the same time and/or display only some of the news items from a given RSS feed.

A complete rewrite of the mod (November 2006) has improved both it's speed and efficiency. XML files are now cached locally so that the server doesn't have to fetch them every time a page loads, and alternative, faster methods are now provided for fetching the feed from external sites.
